Terms of Service
Last updated August 18, 2026
By installing TrueUp you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose.
What TrueUp does
TrueUp reads your Shopify Payments payouts and posts one summarised journal entry per payout to the accounting software you connect. Each entry debits a clearing account by the exact net amount of the payout, so it can be matched against the deposit in your bank feed.
What it costs
- Free — you press the button when you want to sync. No limit on the number of orders.
- $19 per month — we sync once a day for you. Still no limit on the number of orders.
Billing is handled by Shopify and appears on your Shopify invoice. You can cancel at any time from your Shopify admin; daily syncing stops at the end of the period you have paid for, and the free plan continues.
Your books are yours
TrueUp is a bookkeeping tool, not an accountant. We take real care to be accurate — and when an entry does not reconcile to the cent against the payout, we deliberately refuse to post it and tell you instead. But you remain responsible for your own accounting records, for reviewing what is posted, and for the tax positions you take.
We strongly recommend reviewing the first few entries with whoever keeps your books before relying on the app unattended.
What we can't promise
- TrueUp depends on the Shopify and accounting-software APIs. If they change or go down, syncing can be delayed or interrupted.
- Sales that do not go through Shopify Payments — PayPal, cash on delivery, manual payments — are not part of a Shopify payout and are not covered. The app tells you when it sees them rather than hiding it.
- The service is provided as is. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before a claim.
Ending it
Uninstall the app whenever you like. Entries already posted stay in your accounting software and remain yours. We may suspend an account that abuses the service or attempts to compromise it.
